Davidology Blog Search Engine Options
- FreeFind - FreeFind is the default search and by far provides the most comprehensive search for this blog. FreeFind spiders all public entries from the first entry all the way to the last indexing (generally run weekly). FreeFind also indexes entry comments by other users. Unless you have a specific need better served by another engine, this is probably the best selection.
- LJSeek - LJ Seek is designed specifically for searching LiveJournal blogs. It is, however, limited to the previous 25 entries from the moment it began indexing this weblog. It contains entries from February 3, 2005 to date and does not index user comments.
- Google Blogsearch - Google blogsearch uses XML feeds to index pages and starts with the first entry in the feed available the day they started the service. For this blog, it contains entries from February 18, 2005 to date. Choose this option if you want to use a Google syntax search. Because it uses feeds, instead of spidering, it does not include comments.
Note: Private and user-restricted entries are not included in any index.
